Polls Open Coast to Coast and Are Busy!

(Mountain House, California)
At 7 a.m. Pacific Time, polls opened in California, three hours after they opened on the east coast. Record turnouts are projected in most states, with wide open contests in the Democratic and Republican Parties.

I was in Mountain House, a relatively new planned community in San Joaquin County, California, where home forclosures are occurring by the hundreds. According to Forbes, San Joaquin County ranks 13th in the U.S. in the number of foreclosures.
People here call the economy the #1 issue.

Even though California is predicting a record turnout, that looks to be 56%. A lot of people will stay at home. In urging "fence sitters" to get out and vote, Lt. Gov. John Garamendi said, "There are still many people undecided about this election."

The latest Field Poll has it 36% Clinton, 34% Obama on the Democratic side. For the GOP it's 32% McCain, Romney 24%, Huckabee 13%. Both sides have large numbers of undecideds.

Tune in later today for more updates at www.MarkCurtisMedia.com. I will also be on the Pacifica Radio Newtork (for a station list: www.pacificantworks.org, nationwide tonite at 9 p.m., Pacific time, Midnight on the east coast
